    I don't think you need a current medical but if you fly actively (manned aircraft) you do need one. Yes, you need to have done a BFR in the last 2 years. See the link below: Becoming a Pilot

    I just received mine. It took about 6 weeks. When you show up in the Airmen DB with a certificate # you should be getting it soon.

    I've seen on an aviation forum that the certificates are being sent out. It will be a separate card from your PPL.

    It will probably show up on the airmen registry. I remember it took awhile for my name to show up after I got my PPL.

    Contact your local FSDO for the forms. It's faster. I received mine in a couple days. Make sure to get at least 2 in case you screw up on the first one.

    Just left the FSDO with my Temporary Certificate today!

    When I spoke to the lady at the FSDO she said it would be a different certificate #. She said it's not like a rating on your current certificate. So we would have 2 certificates.

    I called the FSDO up on Monday for an appt. and they told me the inspectors won't be around til next month. I contacted a CFI but waiting for him to get back to me. :(

    Just got off the phone with the FSDO. They said inspector won't be available til next month. :( The CFI I did my BFR with went to the airlines so he's no longer around. I'll probably just find a CFI at my local flight club to the sign off. :)
