Darn - absolutely no difference! Jumpered pins - connected USB - Assistant going - same symptoms. Quick flash from yellow LEDS then beep beep from all motors - nothing from the the LEDs. Clearly power's working - any other ideas please?

Repair shop said "Give it a go". I went down to a local PC repair place and they gave me a jumper lead. Will give this a go tomorrow and let you know. Cheers!

Hey John - thanks for your interest. Yup, voltmeter's on DC and I have tested it's working OK on a 1.5 battery. I've just opened the bird and popped the meter across the +ve and -ve terminals on the main board and nothing's showing up there either but the fact the LED's are operating normally...
