    I don't know if other people do this. But always calibrate the compass before flying. I've never had a problem

    The forest service told me if you can use a motorized vehicle in that area (vehicle, motorcycle,...) You can fly a drone. Ski resorts are an exception because they lease the land and make the rules for their land. I'm sure national parks have their own rules also

    You can fly in national forest as long as it's not a wilderness area in the state of Colorado
