Lol it really was the deal of a lifetime.. The open box had 2 batteries inside.. then they had a promotion for a free battery with a pro purchase which they honored plus the movers 10% coupon which bought it to 740.00 with tax :)

No interested in the Phantom 4, not until the bugs are worked out plus price comes down.. The extra features don't intrigue me much.

In My case, I sent the whole unit in since I did not want to take it apart myself. It was an extra 100. You can just either send the shell in or he can order it straight from DJI and then you assemble it all to save the 100.

Yes, however you are aware, the auto drain option in the Phantom batteries can cause an issue.. I never personally fly unless I am using a fresh charged 100% battery however in some cases when you are not on a full charge or a battery has went thru a certain amount of cycles a battery can show...

I don't think that would make sense.. I never fly under 30% and bring it back in.. I think it would be beneficial in battery issues where people let there battery sit and drain and go from 70% to 6% in seconds causes a crash.. There would be an extra 10% reserve that can land it safely.

I was thinking, how important is a battery backup? Just as important as a file backup on your computer? Imagine not backing up any of your files on your computer and then the HD crashing and losing everything. Thats how i feel with the Phantom now.. Why not develop an intelligent battery...

Ok I talked to John at Nero and he said that he can make a batch of 10-20 sets and order the shells direct from DJI. He said it would be under $100 for the labor depending on the amount ordered. I think that can't be beat. He is starting production and building a website and it will be over $150...
