I don't know...maybe the statement was supposed to make you wake up and take notice. (it worked, right?) Too many variables on this one. Nearby lightning strike could cause havoc with the telemetry. The bird's dry but you're soaking wet with an equally soaking wet controller. Wind conditions...
I would think that the spinning hubs of the propellers would do a pretty good job of keeping the moisture out of the motor. Plus, unlike a brush motor, these are run inductively....there are no open exposure points in the motor. I flew, a few times, in dusty conditions where upon inspection...

When I updated the latest firmware for my P3A, I had a lot of probs with the download. What worked for me was junking the old app and installing a new one. Loaded up the first time and no probs.

For my atti practice I use a Syma X-8c. Stripped down, they're a nimble piece of work. Tough case, good, cheap motors and parts are so cheap, I keep a stock of them. For inside flying, I like the JJRC H-20.
I had some problems with my P3A after loading the new updates. The worst problem was the new program would not allow me out of beginner mode. What a shock that was! After rebooting the update again the same problem persisted. Refered to one of the posts on this good Phorum that the OP rebooted...
