Well, I've only replaced an ESC ($30) and motor ($20) on a P2+, also a new shell ($60). The P3 may be more if they redesigned the board. If you're handy open it up or send it to a repair shop. Good luck.

Right! It smelled because the ESC circuit board started to burn. That means components are dying. When you order a new ESC get the proper motor which you may have to replace.

If the one motor gets hot there is something wrong. Don't fly. Likely the ESC is toast. Easy enough to replace if you can solder. Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots mobile app

There are many types of Loctite. Use the type made for plastic as DYI apparently does.

I don't know about iOS 9.2 but I have 9.0.2 and it works well with 1.0.48 after I downgraded from 1.0.52. I believe the latest iOS is 9.1. Keep the pressure on DJI since they're still advertising GS in their literature. Any lawyers out there?

Be very aware that standard blue locktite attacks plastic. They do make one specific to plastic.

Updating to1.0.52 didn't work for me. GS kept crashing. When I pulled 1.0.48 from my iTunes it worked fine. DJI needs to fix it but Phantom 2 Vision Plus owners are a diminishing number. They hope you will cave in and buy a P3.

Glad I went back and pulled 1.00.48 out of iTunes. A hassle but it looks like 1.0.53 is still problematic.
