Sorry to hear of your loss. I had a prop fly off my FC40 once. But it was already on the ground. It's like the change in revs on the motors caused it. Maybe the motors can slow down so fast they loosen the props?

I think it needs to be bigger and heavier..

A child running towards your powered on Phantom = Time to activate CSC and risk damage :)

I've just been looking over when I bought my UAV's and it got me thinking about what I might buy next. I've come to realise that you don't need a large fleet of UAV's. If you have more then five to seven, chances are, some of them will gather dust on a shelf for most of their lives. At least...

Not very often. I try to fly in the best conditions possible - Low wind, average temp and dry ground. I also don't like to fly just for fun. I like to fly if it looks like a good idea to do so. On average I'd say I fly 2 - 4 times a month.

I'm using the Walkera G-2D Gimbal and SJ5000+. The SJ5000+ is like a budget GoPro. The best it can offer is 1080P @60FPS and 16 Megapixel Photos. Good enough for me!

I've heard that the LED's on a Phantom are attached to the ESC's. So in theory, you could get the matching LED's with the ESC's? (AKA The LED's and ESC's for a Phantom 2). Not too sure though. Hope you find your answer!

I wonder about this. The last time I flew my FC40, everything was stock. The next time I fly it, it'll have a Walkera G-2D, SJ5000+, Boscam TS321, Buzzer and two small Rhino batteries attached to it. I will use my Vision Plus Props to fly (9443?) as I hear that helps with thrust and battery...

Say what? You can charge the TX battery with an Inspire Battery? That's cool if so!

Surprised this isn't widely known. But you should never leave it idling on the ground as the motors will speed up slowly. This is because the Phantom doesn't actually know it's on the ground. It just thinks it's hovering. A breeze will cause it to try and compensate, resulting in the motors...

I think it's hard to really compare the Q500 to 'THE' Phantom. For a start, 'THE' Phantom has been around for a long time, whilst the Q500 has not. Being a leader in this hobby, DJI are bound to have had issues compared to Yuneec. I think you can compare the Q500 to the Vision Plus specifically...
