Sounds to me like the guy had something illegal going on his back yard if he was that worried about you flying over it. I’m pretty new to this hobby and have not had any confrontations like this one yet. Hope I never do, but I’m sure it will happen eventually.

Also, according to the FAA as long as you’re recreational flying you do not have to take part in 107 certification. There is however a ton of guidelines that you have to abide by so you will def wanna do your homework to be sure you’re compliant.
