I believe this an inherent P3P issue. I had to send it back to DJI for a compass replacement.

I just recently pulled the trigger on the new Mavic Pro only because we'll be traveling to Cancun next month. If you're planning on doing a lot of traveling then shoot for a Mavic for portability if not the P3P is all you need IMO. Good luck!

After 4 batteries of flying the compass has failed once again. Same area, same everything. I cannot re-calibrate.

Meta -- I cannot explain how I have not been able to calibrate the compass in the last two months (same location as always) and then for the compass to all of a sudden start working again.

It's really strange that it would suddenly start working again. I've read that the P3P compass is another part that is prone to failure and that replacing it is common, hence why the P34 has dual compasses for redundancy. I hope that I don't have to deal with it again but I have a sneaky...

I was hesitant to do that because what if it stopped working again but I will later this afternoon. I did notice that the DJI GO app had been "auto updated" on both iPads so it's not going to be the same app version but we'll see what happens and I'll keep you posted. It was quite the bummer...

Calm down and relax. DJI will replace your shell for free if stress cracks appear. They're pretty good about it too and they'll usually have it returned to you within 8-10 days.
