If people were just a little more responsible there wouldn't be any trouble with the FAA or any other agencies. Common sense and a little forethought would solve almost everything.

If you just use common sense and don't staty up over 400' for your full length of flight you're fine. Here in the mountains I have a jet that does a pass 1-2 times a week at treetop level .( pilot visible in cabin) and I know that is less than 400' Just don't be dumb and go out 1000' feet up...

So I have been loosing fpv at the 2200-2800' range. I have the 2- 5dbi omni directional antennas and get that result .(UFL to rp-sma jacks. Same with the default panel on the re700. How can I max the fpv range to meet or exceed the phantom control?

I agree 100%. That is the only reason the government thinks they need to put control on drones. It's not the drone 90% of the time in videos. It's a pilot/operater doing something stupid.

Do you have a preferred brand antenna that is small? All directional antennas I know of are fairly large in size.
