I covered the chrome camera face with black photographer's foil. The lens hole I cut in the foil disk left that inner beveled edge surrounding the lens exposed. My test shots did not display any flair that I could detect.

You nailed it Pull_Up, thanks for the idea. I was puzzled with the bad lens flair I was getting with a UV filter (a good one at that). Today I put a disc of matte black foil (with a hole in the center for the lens) between the front face of the camera and the filter. Lens flair eliminated.
