Good info. It appears that you can remove the camera but keep the gimbal and have proper app flight functions. Saves weight and makes room for a different camera.

Both apps work fine when the gimbal and camera are on the drone.

Apps both say """ Disconnected""" Other data is missing, such as the battery and satellite data, so it's just not the video feed. I'd remove the camera from the gimbal and see what happens, but I don't want to mess with the flat cable.

I'm with you. I have a P2 with go pros and or fpv and 3 P3P's. Working on repairing a 4th. Wrecked P3's are plentiful. What would be awesome is for some electronic genius to make a circuit board to replace the 4k camera and gimbal. This would VASTLY simplify using add on devices. I'm a huge...

You can simplify things and fly without the Dji gimbal and 4k camera but you lose the use of Litchi or DJI Go and GPS data.
