    Unfortunately not. The Gear VR requires you plug your phone into the micro usb connecter on the headset. You need that for the link to the controller.

    Not true. Most that shoot in 4k don't export the final video file at 4k. 4k is helpful in post editing. You can crop the video and still export a full 1080p file.
