So I have a Can port on my Phantom 2 Vision V2 board. Just for fun I am connecting my GoPro3 for FPV. Could I get an IOSD to work with the similar process to what you guys have done? Its an old thread. I am just getting into it with a Phantom 2 Vision for practice.

Hi. I am hooking up my gopro for FPV flying. I want the flight data like you get from the mini iosd. However without the can bus I cant use it. Are there any other ways to do it. I dont need to log or anything Flytrex seems a bit expensive for the 3g anyway. They do have others but dont know...

Hi again. I do have the opportunity to get a hold of the upgraded controller. Phantom 2 vision plus with the thumb wheel. Does it work well without the issues of continual drive. Does it stop when you stop the wheel rotation. Thanks again. Greg

All sorted. I got in the Turnigy motors which are not as wide. This in turn helped me to balance the gimbal with no power. Before if flopped all over the place. I had to modify the printed pitch arm a little to get the balance right. Now I dont need to run any near as much power on the motors...

I have tried this with the china style gimbal motors. No good all out of balance. Worked ok straight and level but topples with any major manouvers. Worth a try. I have ordered recommended motors. Just in case anyone else was considering doing the same.

Thanks again. I will get a Phantom 4 or Mavic Pro one day so will save my money. The P2V has been a great training drone. I have done gimbals and replaced motors after I stuck long screws into it. Yeah the prop guard screws. Glad it wasnt a new drone.
