OK - thanks, Just worried that if the bird isn't level it may throw off the compass. Will practice before leaving. The schooner will be in a bay in Greenland - once in a lifetime opportunity. So with a lot of practice under my belt (and good insurance), I'm going for the best.

I plan to hand launch my drone while on a schooner and want to get the steps down. Should I start up on a flat area away from all metal (raised on a bucket or my backpack, which has a flat surface), let the bird get oriented, then pick it up to launch? I don't think I can hold it very steady...

Are the settings you make in the Go App supposed to stick? I have set the function of the two front buttons several times and each time I reload Go, they are reset. Expected behavior?

Got it. But how exactly do you you <reset> the home point? I know how to choose between those two options at start up, but once I choose RC as the home point, how do I reset it to my current location as the boat moves? And isn't that option for the RTH point, not the home point? The radar works...

Thanks for the info. Been practicing hand catch and flying w/o GPS (ATTI) for weeks and feeling pretty good. The unknowns are what I am worried about - compass issues that far north, lack of VPS (will disable) over water... But planning to buy the Dual Electronics XGPS150A Multipurpose...

Thanks for the replies. Is there any way to get the orientation to be relative to the current RC position, as I constantly move around while flying my drone and lose my own orientation to the home point. So showing me the direction of the drone relative to the home point doesn't really help me...
