No, and you don't need it. Check specs on Apple site. I have iPad Mini with Retina Display and the wifi unit do not have GPS. The cell version do. The P3 has a GPS.

You be fine with the iPad. The GPS is in the Phantom and as long as you cash the maps (using wifi before heading out). Only thing that will not work is dynamic home point.
Sure it will work with the recommended devises, however you are referring to video issue, this is directly related to the devise processing power. Just because it works might not mean it will not have lag when you compare different devises.
Very sorry for what happened. Not sure if it has any relevance since it is wifi related but noted the absent battery indicator for your range extender in the videos?

When I use the app and record the flight using Shou non of the maps except "Radar Map" is visable when I play back video. Any ideas what might be wrong?
EDIT: It behaves just like if "assistant touch" was not active. Makes no difference if I toggle the switch on or off.
