Re: My Personal Goal -- 1.5 Miles @ 500 ft. Alt going with F
I'm giving this a whirl this weekend with the utility app boost..previously got to @ 2900ft but that was near power lines etc.
Nothing like getting your own pb :)
I've had a few small iffy moments and still gimbal & camera are perfectly fine?..in saying that, there would probably be so many people doing silly things and crashing..so what would you expect to damage first?
Pilots fault..not DJI
PS: Another bs dji rant thread..DEAD in the water!
Re: Anybody with P2V+ getting more than ~1,100 feet distance
1000ft is @300m ..seems low range. Have you tried different locations?
I can understand straight above you at that range but not straight out away from you. The flat bit of the tx antenna HAS to be lining up with the bird.
Welcoming thread :) Yea it's good to get a few flights under your belt and slowly progress through different ways in which you can bring the bird home. Do you hand land? I mostly hand land, but yesterday decided to land it on concrete to test control abilities :)..all good..it was a calm day...
It maintains its altitude relative to its home point setting. If you started at 700ft and set its home point(or lock) at that spot, that's its relative location. Doesn't have to be terrain..u can launch from a roof, boat, car, helicopter :) etc
It would hit the ground..same with mountain, trees, buildings etc..you would have to lift its elevation above the road, and you would see its altitude reading through the dji app and FPV.
I guess it depends on what you call unusual? ..if the bird starts to get a mind of its own and your not in control..then yes, the first thing you do is switch to atti mode..that will give back control.
If you have < 5-6 sats and having problems with GPS signal then that'd be your choice. But...
Ive yet to try HL but have used failsafe a few times. I think generally you would want to have sight of the bird or at least know what area its in before activating HL. Where as FS the bird will turn and come back to your home point.
I activated mine through the RC system assistant. You know your in FCC mode when you turn the controller ON and hear the 2 beeps.
Plug the controller into your PC - Turn the controller ON - Launch the RC software - There should be a two modes 'Stick' mode and 'Compliance' mode..under...
Re: P2V+ Chasing an UltraLight ... [video]
